Coordinate converter
Convert directions, Cartesian vectors, and structural coordinates
Conversion settings and data input
Choose the type of conversion, then enter data manually or import a text file. Structural corrections use dip direction and dip; if a file contains strike and dip, dip direction is assumed to be strike + 90Β°.

Result plot
Directions are shown on an equal-area (Schmidt) stereonet.
For directional plots, positive inclinations (down) are filled and negative inclinations (up) are open.
Calculation notes
- D/I β X/Y/Z uses a north-east-down Cartesian reference frame with Z positive downward.
- The antipode is calculated as D + 180Β° and I = βI, with declination normalized to 0β360Β°.
- Tilt correction rotates the magnetization vector around the bedding strike axis by the bedding dip; geographic β stratigraphic uses an unfolding rotation, and the inverse operation restores the bedding tilt.
